Fantastic Romano Dona Aquarium Signed

Fantastic and rare Romano Dona Aquarium, Signed. The pictures can't do this piece justice. The color and detail of the work is wonderful and done by a master of Murano glass-works. This piece weighs in at over 11 pounds, measures about 10" x 6" x 4. This one not only has fish but a fantastic jellyfish and very colorful rocks. No damage noted, small pads attached to base, base shows appropriate wear for age.

It will be a great addition to any Murano glass collection. Romano Donà grew up in a family with centuries of experience in glassmaking.

He entered the kiln business at an early age, beginning his apprenticeship at the F. Lli Manfren company where he worked also with his father. In 1975 he began working with the master Livio Seguso with whom he worked for twenty years in order to master his skills while learning from important artists like Henry Mavrodin, Federica Marangoni, Mimmo Rotella and Ugo Marano. He specialized with glass sculpture and in 1987 he won the Premio Murano award for glass masters. In 1997 Romano began working at Stefano Toso Glassworks, where he created his own original pieces while proceeding with challenging cooperation with renowned artists who gave him new ideas and energy.

Starting from 2003 Romano began experimenting with the traditional watermark and incalmo techniques, which enabled him to create bright, colorful vessels and elegant vases.
