Italian Art Glass Millefiori Bud Vase-Red, White, Blue-Mid Century Modern, Deco

  

A patriotic vase, this red, white and blue Italian millefiori piece was made for a single flower stem or a group of miniature American flags. Most likely created in the early part of the twentieth century possibly during the Art Deco era of the 1920s/1930s. It sports alternating white with blue canes, all containing red centers. The artist who made this vase added a clear glass ring around the bottom for stabilization when setting on a flat surface. The vase stands 5 1/2" tall with the base measuring 1 3/4" diameter.

It has a matte finish; it was dipped in an acid bath to remove any original shine. A pontil can be seen and felt in the center of the bottom.

I can find no chips, cracks, damage or repairs to this lovely piece. An excellent addition of a very rare color combination for your Italian art glass collection.
