Italian pink Satin MOP Large Vase-Raindrop Scale Design-Deco, Mid Century Modern

  
With this example the only word to accurately describe its beauty is "Awesome". An unusual color for Italian mother of pearl satin glass, this pastel pink vase sports what I would call raindrop scale design. I've never seen an example with this pattern incorporated into the glass; I have seen and owned examples in the raindrop but not this combination.

Hand blown, a nicely ground pontil visible on the bottom. The outer surface has a smooth silky feel when handled.

From the design and shape, I believe this example was created in the first half of the 20th century, possibly the late deco or mid century modern era. The vase measures 10 3/4" tall, 3 1/2" across the top and 10 1/2 across the widest region of the body. The glass is thick thus the vase is quite heavy weighing in at over 8 lbs unpacked.

The condition is fantastic showing no damages or repairs, no staining or residue on the inside from use. Definitely an item to set in a spot where an accent is needed.
