Italian Travertine Cube Block End Side Table On Wheels Casters Vintage 1970s EUC

  

This travertine rolling side table is both a functional piece of furniture, and a superb example of earths artistry, one that is as beautiful as it is captivating. One can easily find themselves staring at it and imagine it as it is being created, appearing in almost a fluid state with brown, beige, and clay colored bands, it is snapshot of earth creating a masterpiece. Handcrafted in the 1970s, it consists of 5 - 3/4 thick slabs of vein cut polished Tuscany Scabas travertine, forming a cube shaped block of stone measuring 18 x 18 x 18 1/2, and weighing nearly 125 pounds. It is in excellent when considering it is 40 to 50 years old, although it is not perfect. Given the nature of its texture and color variation, it is very forgiving as far as revealing its imperfections, so have to look rather closely to see that there is one approximately 1/4 chip about 6 up from the floor on one corner, and one rather insignificant chip near the top about 2 from one of the corners, but that appears to be more of a natural weak spot in the stone, and not the result of any damage in my opinion.
