Kurt Versen Style Flip Top Convertible Floor Lamp Circa 1960s Mid-Century Chrome Italian. This listing is for a 1960s Italian Reproduction of Kurt Versens Flip Top Convertible Floor Lamp. A flip-top mechanism is connected to the stand with a hinged support, allowing the lamp to function as a torchiere, enabling light to shine upwards for indirect light or with one flip in its downwards position, it becomes a reading or task lamp! The base and pole have a chrome finish. The shade is acrylic, and the shade diffuser is a perforated metal.

This lamp has two lightbulb sockets; embossed on each socket is the following information: 66W 250V / UL / LEVITON. The switch is on a foot pedal located on the cord, right near the base.

I took photographs of the lamp featured in this listing in a few different ways - with the interior lightbulbs on/off, and then. I turned off all lights in the room (aside from the listed lamp), so that you could see the gorgeous glow, as well as the light pattern it gives off. The diffusers are white in color, and best represented in photos 4, 9, 16, and 18. CONDITION : This 1960s Italian reproduction of Kurt Versens Flip Top Convertible Floor Lamp is overall in good vintage condition with some wear consistent with age and use.

There is some pitting and scratches on the base. The acrylic shade has a small red ink mark on it but is otherwise in really good condition.

The perforated metal diffuser is slightly bent; this can be easily remedied, but I will leave it up to the new owner to decide if they want to fix it, or leave it in its vintage condition. This lamp may have been rewired at the foot switch, and there is no base to the pedal. I highly recommend having a licensed electrician check the wiring on this lamp, and possibly having it professionally rewired before using it in your home. Shade height when flipped up like a C (1st photo): 63-3/4 tall. Shade height when down flat 8. Lamp stand height: 55-3/8 tall. Base: 11 long x 8 wide. Cord length: 9 - 7 long; the foot switch is 9.5 from the base.
