Important CARLO SCARPA 1930s Red CORROSO Art Glass Bowl-VENINI MURANO Signed. Features a clean and modern design with textural, acid-corroded surface (Corroso) in thickly blown glass. The bowl is gently curved with a slightly squared shape at the lip. Beautifully executed, with minimal simple lines and great color. The color is a Selenium Red with an underlying layer of fluorescence giving the bowl a subtle glow from certain angles. Designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini. Four-line acid stamp to underside "Venini Murano Made in Italy" on the polished pontil. Width 5.3 in / 13.5 cm. 2.5 in / 6.5 cm. In very good condition with No chips, cracks, flea bites or repairs. There are traces of normal wear consisting of surface scratches. A fine addition to any modern Italian art glass collection and Danish modern, Eames or Panton inspired décor.
