Ultra Rare'Pillola' Table Lamps, Cesare Casati and Emanuele Pozio, 1968. More pictures available upon request; available for private viewing in Northern California by appointment. Exceptionally rare set of Pillola Lamps from 1968 in mint condition from my personal collection, new dead stock, never taken out of the boxes since 1968. The lamps have remained in a climate controlled warehouse and have never seen daylight before.

The first time I took them out of the boxes was to take these pictures. I would very much prefer these end up in a museum collection as they are ultra rare. They are already in the permant collection of the MoMA in New York and the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. Impossible to find in new and unused condition. Looks stunning in any setting.

Cesare Casati and Emanuele Pozios Pillola lights, designed in 1968, are representative of Italys anti-design movement of the mid-1960s and 1970s. They culturally channel the works of Claes Oldenburg and Andy Warhol with their oversized and humorous depiction of pills. Each lights ability to move at varying angles evokes the haphazard look of pills accidentally dropped, demonstrating both their plastic materiality and the designers sense of humor. The lights are made out of ABS plastic and acrylic, a resin referred to as "acrylic glass" in opal white with a pleasing ambient glow when illuminated. Original wiring and European plugs are in tact, complete with inline on/off switch.

The lid on the top screws off so the shade can be removed. I prefer you pick them up in Sonoma California. I would not even dare to use craters & freighters due to their rarity. Price is for the complete set of 5 lamp.

Impossible to find in this condition. Condition is very good considering its age. One tiny hairline crack which hardly shows up in images.
